I saw the Assassins revival this weekend at Classic Stage, and I was disappointed that I could find almost no posts about it here to reblog, so I had to make my own.
Steven Pasquale is impeccably handsome as John Wilkes Booth.
Will Swenson delightfully chewed up every scene he was in. And Guiteau staring you in the eye as he delivers one of his rants was intense.
Loved Judy Kuhn, as always.
And Ethan Slater was a delightful Balladeer, and then affecting as Lee Harvey Oswald.
The run is completely sold out, but if you get the chance, go.

This improves the scene immeasurably by shifting it from an everyday occurrence in a world where spontaneous musical numbers are a normal, expected thing, to a bunch of guys being totally and unapologetically Like That.
